December 2011 - Nicholas’ story shows that the Splash way means everyone, even those children labelled as ‘not sporty’,  can become a confident, able and efficient swimmer.  Nicholas’ mum followed our advice to get the most out of his Splash programme (Nick swam twice per week, attended holiday clinics, and rarely missed a session), and less than a year later she’s truly given Nicholas a gift that will last him a lifetime.

Here’s the lovely email she just sent us:

Thank you for all the support and encouragement for Nicholas this year.

Nicholas’ school had a gala last week and made selections based on swimming trials done in January this year. Needless to say Nicholas was not selected. However he took his Speedo “just in case” and a boy in his class forgot his. Nicholas volunteered to replace him, and won the race!  He was so pleased with himself! A real boost for a boy who up until now has not managed to hold his own with any sport.

His teacher came to find him to tell him how impressed he was with his swimming.

November 2011 -
Brent’s mum was amazed that after over a year at another swim school, Brent was happy and confident in the water within a few weeks at Splash.  Years of experience have taught us that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to learning to swim – finding the right lesson type and teacher is essential to a swimmer’s success.  We’ve just received an inspiring email worth sharing from Brent’s mum…

Gone are the days where Brent starts looking for excuses the night before swimming lessons…like with the swimming school he attended last year.

Over the past 7 weeks Brent has been eager to attend swimming lessons!  He has shown enormous progress in the swimming pool. He is so confident and comfortable in the water and trusts Janine 110%.

Last week Janine taught Brent to swim crawl and after the lesson he climbed out of the pool and ran up to me and said : ‘I am sooooo happy mommy’.

Today Janine taught Brent to swim on his back and to swim like a dolphin. Afterwards he couldn’t get out of the pool quick enough to tell me that he has reached Level 2 with Splash. He was laughing, smiling and extremely excited to tell me what he did in the pool today.

A huge huge huge thank you to SPLASH, a huge huge thank you to YOU Lee-Anne for appointing Janine to teach Brent in the pool and an extremely huge thank you to JANINE, for giving Brent all the confidence in the swimming pool that he has gained over the past 7 weeks and especially for the confidence he has gained in the WATER!

I am truly lost for words! THANK YOU SPLASH!

August 2011 - Our little Hannah had one goal in mind when she asked her mum to sign her up with Splash: ‘I want to swim in galas’.  In a little under 6 months, Hannah progressed to a mini-squad, and she swam her first gala on Saturday 6th August.  Keep working towards your goals with such determination, Hannah, and you’re sure to succeed.

May 2011 - Wynberg Girls’ Junior School learners Tyler and Megan were awarded the prestigious ‘Splash Swimming Scholarship’ this month, allowing the girls realise their full potential through year-round training with Splash.  Both Tyler and Megan are tenacious, dedicated and self-motivated young swimmers, and we know that they’re going to achieve great things with the help of this scholarship.

May 2011 - Claire’s baby Rachel has arrived!  Our much-loved Learn-to-Swim and Stroke Correction coach Claire finally welcomed her little girl into the family on the 13th of May 2011.  Congratulations to Claire and Brendan, we’re so happy for you both.

March 2011 – Matthew’s training at Splash paid off this term when he won all of his races at his school gala.  Here’s what Matthew’s parents had to say: ‘When Matthew started swimming at WBJS he was part of the “D” and “C” squad.  You identified swimming potential within him and requested that he attend Splash swimming school. Through the training provided at Splash he quickly progressed to an “A” team swimmer, thanks to the dedication and soft-mannered coaching style of Splash.  Matthew really enjoys Splash because of the relaxed, and yet very professional set-up.’

March 2011 - We’re so proud of our Splash girls – Splash swimmers from Springfield and Rustenburg girls’ schools took home age-group trophies at the annual interschools gala.  The year-round training at Splash definitely paid off for these dedicated young swimmers.  Congratulations to all of you who gave your all at interschools this year and achieved your goals

December 2010 – After a course of only 12 lessons, 6 year old Chelsea is now a confident and able little swimmer.  From being nervous to blow bubbles in the water at her first lesson, Chelsea can now happily jump into the water and swim a couple of meters before returning to the side, and all this in less than a month.  Nothing beats the look of pure joy on a child’s face when they master the art of swimming by themselves…  Well done Chelsea!
