Our Programmes
The Splash programmes are structured to support a swimmer’s progress through the ‘ranks’ from nervous beginner to competent water enthusiast, with an emphasis on developing a positive attitude towards swimming, and therefore a healthy active lifestyle incorporating watersports.
Whatever a swimmer’s natural ability and swimming goals, Splash is a place where every swimmer is encouraged to be the best that they can be, and where our coaches aim to inspire each individual swimmer to reach their full potential.

Parents often don’t realise that learning to swim needn’t be a long, expensive process.
It definitely takes commitment and practice, but our innovative, interactive learn-to-swim programme has seen some incredible results within a short space of time. Our lessons start off being 15 minutes long, and each child is in the pool with the focused attention of their own instructor. These lessons are ideally suited to children aged from 4 years.

**Please note: No child is ever ‘drown-proof’ or ‘water-safe’. No matter how many swimming lessons they’ve had or how well they can swim, there is no substitute for parental supervision around any body of water.
Children naturally progress at different rates, but we find that a child benefits greatly from the individual attention of a coach in the water with them for 15 minutes until about age 5. Once a child has a fairly good grasp of basic strokes, exercises and routines, they progress to a half-hour lesson with a partner or two, with the teacher still in the water. These lessons are ideally suited to children aged 5 and up, and bridge the gap between the learn-to-swim programme and the larger group mini-squads very well.
**Teaching all of our lessons in a training pool introduces swimmers to the standard 25m length from an early age, giving our swimmers the edge when it comes time demonstrate their swimming ability at school in Grade 1 or 2.

For swimmers who are fairly competent in the 4 main swimming strokes, our mini-squad programme is a great introduction to a squad environment. Between 6 and 10 swimmers (depending on ability level) complete various stroke-development and fitness-building exercises for either 30 or 45 minutes. Mini-squads allow swimmers to further develop their strokes and speed by improving fitness, and also introduce them to working in sets and thinking for themselves during their swimming sessions. Ideally suited to primary school swimmers aged from 7 to 12 years.
Our main squads focus on stroke refinement, building fitness and endurance, and improving the overall performance of each individual in order to help them achieve their goals through swimming. Our swimmers are gala swimmers, triathletes, water-polo players, lifesavers and regular fitness swimmers, and range from medal-winning athletes to social swimmers. The aim, as with all our programmes, is to guide each individual to be the best swimmer they can be. Splash squads are suited to swimmers from 9 to 13 years.
Have you always wanted to learn how to swim? Or perhaps you can swim a little, but have never had the opportunity to learn the correct strokes and techniques properly. Adult swimming classes at Splash offer an encouraging, supportive environment to learn and improve on this vital life-skill. Our swimmers are always surprising themselves by how quickly they make progress and can show off their confidence in the water to their friends and family – take the first steps of your swimming journey with Splash, and you could soon be too.
Emily and her team of enthusiastic coaches come in every Saturday morning to offer the learn to swim and stroke correction programmes to swimmers aged from about 3 years. Saturday swimming offers working parents the opportunity to be more involved in their child’s swimming development, and with Janine running an Adult Swimming programme at the same time, the whole family can learn to swim together!
